Bike trail between San Lorenzo al mare - San Remo

Area 24, the company which manages the reutili-zation of the former railway areas of the Western Italian Riviera, has chosen Vasart furnishings to upgrade the former San Lorenzo al Mare Railway stretch of San Remo. The bike trail between San Lorenzo and Santo Stefano al Mare on the old coastline railway was the first of a series of projects to upgrade the areas discarded by this stretch of railway, that for over a century crossed one of the most beautiful landscapes of Italy. This part of the Ita-lian Riviera best known by foreign visitors, now has several rest and refreshment areas furnished.with Vasart benches, bicycle racks and the new Oikos bins for differentiated recycling. This is the first step in a transformation enthusiastically en-dorsed by Regione Liguria intended to give the public a chance to appreciate this area of rare beauty and inaccessibility. When the works are completed, it will constitute the Parco Costiero del Ponente Ligure [Western Liguria Coastal Park]. A new stretch of over 8 km between Taggia and San Remo, will be open to the public by the end of July and another 4 km will be added by the end of this year. The Park is a tangible testimony to a larger project for safeguarding the environment and developing tourism, including, among other things, 24 km of walking/cycling trails (the first Italian greenway atop a cliff overlooking the sea). After the work is completed, it will total 70 km and include slow trekking trails, access to a network of paths throu-ghout the area, reutilization of the former train stations as hotels or hostels, and free sports facili-ties. All of this will be built in and around several villages (Costarainera, Taggia, Ospedaletti and others) and natural sites of extraordinary beauty. Vasart has proven to be a company that is incre-asingly customer-oriented with a complete line of products adaptable to a huge diversity of customer needs.
